Jaanvi Yadav: Why You Should Swear By Music

Music links all emotional, spiritual and physical elements of the universe. Listening to classical music from the Baroque period slows down the heart beat and pulse rate. The body relaxes and the level of concentration rises. Music affects the amplitude and frequency of brain waves, the breathing rate and memory. Listening to Mozart with 60 beats per minute triggers the left and right brain which ameliorates learning and recollection of information. Singing and playing instruments involve both sides of the brain, making it proficient in processing data. Einstein, during his school days, was told by his teachers to leave school and do manual labour. His mom bought him a violin instead. It  enhanced his performance. He figured out problems and equations by improvising on the violin. Music was the key that helped Einstein become one of the world’s greatest scientists. As they say, “Life would be a mistake without music.”

That is absolutely true. I, personally enjoy listening to music or songs. But too much of everything is not good. Listening to music to pacify yourself or for a change is good, but not all the time. If we listen to music for a long time, it gets addicting and again causes problems. So everything should be balanced and in a limit.
