Aikya Says Let's Have Eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi

Every Ganesh Chaturthi, we spoil the environment in many ways. Throwing chemical colours, bursting crackers, wasting food etc. These are really harmful not joyful. Just think!Beware !! Let's be a little responsible and eco-friendly this time.Follow and share these tips:

1) Use materials like mud and clay to make the ganesha, this way no harm is to be caused when it is thrown into water.
2)Save Energy by switching on the lights only when needed, not after or before the festival.

3)Use natural colors for your rangoli.

4)Refrain from Noise Pollution- avoid playing loud volume, limit the usage of speakers too.

5)Reduce the usage of plastic and usecloth or paper materials for prasad and fruits that they give.

6)Make a compost of organic materials if used.

An amazing article! We must try our best to keep our environment safe and not use Ganesh Chaturthi as an excuse to pollute our motherland!

Very-well written! From yester years, we are celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi but the saddest part is that we worship Lord Ganesha''s idol made up of Plaster of Paris, Cement and other noxious materials. It is excruciatingly depressing to see that there has been a tremendous rise in river pollution. We all should join our hands and should pledge not buy such idols and should celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly way!

Prerana S Kulkarni CLARENCE PUBLIC SCHOOL

Yes! Let''s have a green place to live. I''m sure God won''t be pleased if we all perform rituals and then finally immerse the idol which has been painted using lead-based paints into water. What is the use of doing pooja for the betterment of the whole world if we can''t take care of nature in the first place? The whole idea of the festival is to begin the harvest season and to worship Lord Ganesha - not to ruin the already dwindling state of the environment.

Yana Agarwal G.D GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL

Yes! Rightly said, Aikya! Let this Ganesh Chaturthi be a Eco-Friendly one!
