Aaryan: India Has Become Too Tolerant Of Intolerance

India is one of the greatest nations in the world. But sadly, even in this day and age we are slaves to dogmatism and age-old beliefs. What’s more, our tolerance levels have  reached such a high that we are prepared to accept any wrong perpetrated on us. Every day in the newspapers, there are articles related to deaths, harassment of women and other dreadful incidents. Women tolerate inequality as they fear people won’t believe them if they report a crime. Most nations spare no effort to take advantage of India. Look at Pakistan or China for that matter. From 1700, when the Europeans started conquering parts of India, the situation is the same. We secured freedom but has much changed? Corruption, money laundering, dowry deaths continue. It’s time to hit back. We must stand up and fight for our rights. Let us fight for the rights of women. Let us stand up for the national anthem instead of creating a fuss. Let us fight the evils in society. Let’s unite as one nation and show everyone what that we are civil, sensible and patriotic. We have the courage, we have the power and we have the spirit. Let’s take a stand.

I would like to commend Aryan for the well-written and articulately expressed post, to begin with.

At the outset, I think tolerance is one of the most fundamental principles of Indian culture.

At the same time, as Aryan said, me must keep in mind certain issues, incidents and occurrences which just deserve no tolerance whatsoever.

We can also relate this to what our Prime Minister feels about terrorism - no tolerance for terrorism, because this cruel act is inhumane, and absolutely unjustified.

Similarly, we must identify problems and flaws in our society that are inexcusable and stand up together against such malefactors.

Whilest retaining the foundational principles that our forefathers laid for us, we must not tolerate incidents such as those described by Aryan and strictly and strongly retaliate to such attrocities.

It is no more under in disguise that India is moving a step forward every momentevery day. If we talk of people who are suffering in the nation then we must not also forget to consider the fact that the same amount of efforts are also put in to cure their suffrage and exactly no nation could progress without joint efforts so until and unless we as natives take the charge of bringing a change rather then only criticizing our nation, a change could not really ever happen.

All the points have been pen down very aptly. The caption itself is self-explanatory and is very catchy. This is the truth and we, the youth of this nation need to fix this preconceived notion.

very nicely written

well said!tolerance is a mighty sword, but in some cases it can prove to be catastrophic for the individuals.we must raise our voice against something which is inappropriate.

That"s very much true. It"s enough saying that we are yet to develop country. Let us repeat the nationalism movement. Enough of blaming others: Let us take the responsibility to make our India better.
