Manage Time For Short Term Goals

Many feel life is passing by too quickly. We move from one season to the next and wonder where time went. Days, months, and years fly by at tremendous speed and we can’t seem to get anything we want done. Is there any way to use time-management for goal-setting?

Small children that we brought into the world suddenly turn into adults and have children of their own. At some point in our lives, we start to wonder if we are accomplishing all that we set out to achieve. We feel like we waste much of the precious gift of our life’s breaths and our time in useless pursuits. Instead of gaining what is most important, we waste time in petty pursuits.

Time management means making the best use of our time. Time is precious. Once time is gone, we cannot retrieve it. Time management really means making the best use of the time we have been given. Let us make the best use of our time. If we do so, then we can achieve our goals in life.

There is a saying to remind us about the importance of every breath: “Think about each moment.

For what are we trading it away?” Do we want to trade it away for thoughts of anger and greed? Or to brood over the past and worry about the future? Do we want to spend it on pastimes that have no value for us? Or do we wish to spend the moment in doing something to discover who we really are and to find out why we are here? Goal setting begins with deciding what is important in life. We can avoid being aimlessly adrift on the sea of life. We can spend some time to decide the direction we wish to go in.

If we look at the lives of great people, many of them had decided on a direction in life. They may have wished to pursue their art, hobby, science, research, or their spiritual growth. They were not aimlessly adrift; they set a course and they followed it.

If we wish to develop our body, mind and soul, we need to allot time to it. Activities such as eating, sleeping, dressing, and working to make money to pay for our necessities, occupy a good portion of our time. With little time left over, we want to evaluate how to make the best use of what remains.

We can analyse how much time we devote to various activities throughout the day. Then we can decide how to make time to reach our physical, mental, or spiritual goals of life.

If we wish to uncover the luminosity and riches of our soul, spending some time daily in meditation can help us reach that goal. By sitting in meditation for some time each day, we would find that we are using our time for lasting spiritual gains. The by-product of that is that it also has an effect on improving our physical, mental, and emotional health and wellness.

Meditation is a way to devote time to our body, mind, and soul. It allows us to spend some time daily in the quiet of our own self and tap into the treasures within. In this way, we can use time-management to reach our goals and make the best use of our life.
