Upgraded Asus Zenfone Max With 5.5-Inch Display Launched Starting At Rs 9,999

Asus has launched an upgraded version of its Asus Max smartphone in India. While the design profile stays the same, the smartphone features new specifications under the hood. It is available in two variants based on 2GB and 3GB RAM capacity, which cost Rs 9,999 and Rs 12,999 respectively.

As said before, the upgraded Asus Zenfone Max sports a similar design like seen on its previous version . There are three capacitive buttons below the display, along with power and volume buttons on the right side. At the back, the handset rocks a similar circular camera with LED flash and autofocus sensors on either side. A loudspeaker grille is available at the bottom.

On the specifications front, the refurbished Asus Zenfone Max keeps the non-removable 5,000mAh battery as its key highlight. The Taiwanese tech company adds that the smartphone can last longer than its earlier version on a single charge and also has the ability to charge other gadgets as well. It is rated to deliver up to 914.4 hours of standby time, up to 37.5 hours of 3G talk time or up to 32.5 hours of Wi-Fi browsing before it runs out of juice.

Running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the native Asus ZenUI , the upgraded Asus Zenfone Max houses the same 5.5-inch TFT LED display with HD (1280x720 pixels) resolution and Asus TruVivid technology like its previous version. It also has a Bluelight Filter display technology to keep users' eye from stressing too much after prolonged use.

The smartphone packs a powerful Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, clubbed with 2GB or 3GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. The 1st generation Zenfone Max features a Quad-core Snapdragon 410, clubbed with 2GB RAM only. The inbuilt storage space has also been upgraded from 16GB to 32GB, which can be expanded up to 64GB via a MicroSD card. Skipping over to the camera, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera, just like the last year's model. Some of the rear camera features include a f/2.0 aperture, Laser Autofocus technology, and PixelMaster 2.0 for better image capture and rendering.

The upgraded Zenfone Max supports Micro USB (with OTG), 4G LTE, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Wi-Fi Direct. It measures 156x77.5x10.55mm, weighs 202 grams, and is available in more colours options now - Black, Orange and Blue. Based on the price and specifications, the reworked Asus Zenfone Max might prove to be an arch rival to the LeEco Le 1s Eco , Lenovo K3 Note, and the Xiaomi's Redmi Note 3.
