Road Run On Independence Day

Sherwood High organized a fun-filled Sherwood Run for India to celebrate the 70th Independence Day. The colours of the Triranga triumphed over the track and trail, proclaiming our national pride. Participants for the 5K and 3K run, clad in specially designed white T-shirts, looked sporty.
The drill display by the school band dazzled the audience. The national Tricolour was hoisted by principal Agnes Davies. The 5K men's category awards went to Daksha Ballal, Iftiyaz Ahmed, Abhishek Arora, Monish Jamwal and Vijay Balasubramaniam and the 5K women's awards went to Rashi Prasad, Kavitha Kappagal, Rumpa Samanta, Gayatri Raval and Karuna Gupta. The enthusiastic 5K boys category winners were Mukesh, Daniel, Varun, Gagan and Vaibhav and the 5K girls category winners were Isika, Gauri, Havila, Diya and Ishita. The 3K boys category awards went to Sharath, Shabbir, Monish, Chinmay and Abhay and the 3K girls category winners were Riya, Sonali, Anjini, Saanvi and Chhavi. We had a very special trophy for 85-year-old G M  Chittiappa, who walked the entire 5K strech and made the day remarkable. Parents participated in the Colours of India competition and the awards went to Samana, Smitha, Aparna, Maheshwari and Geetha. Three best banners made by students Harini, Shreya and Tapas to cheer the runners were awarded.
First five winners in 5k men and women  category received a trophy, certificate and gift vouchers sponsored by the management. Leapstart sponsored prizes for students.
Trophies and prizes were given for every category and all the participants received certificates. It was a unique day as the management, staff, students and parents were united by the spirit of Indian independence and patriotism, emblazoned in their hearts.
