Fun filled day for teachers at Times-NIE teachers meet

The Times-NIE Teachers’ Meet-2016 held on November 29 gave teachers unique opportunity to showcase their latent talent.  The event sponsor was EduSports which deals in holistic education through sports.  More than 30 teachers from different city schools graced the occasion.  EduSports, regional head, Prateek Deogirikar enlightened the entire gathering with his insightful speech on importance of sports in everyone’s life and why its way of life and skill for life-time. He sorted all queries as teachers divulged grievances regarding their wards sporting prospects and how they are handling it.

On their day, teachers presented those acts and enacted those antics which they rarely exhibit in their daily lives. To make the day for the teachers, a talent hunt competition and fashion show was also organized. 

From rib tickling jokes to one liners, punches, poems to poetry and of course real life tales of courage were narrated as they took teachers to another world. The winners of talent hunt competition was Rubina Ansari, teacher CIPS-Kapsi. Her real life story of grit from life threatening accident and back to active life literally brought tears before the eyes. The second prize went to Mohit Kanojiya, librarian, Sandipani School whose praise for his better half was simply fabulous and drew praise from all ladies who makes our life beautiful and blessed. 
 
The day had series of enchanting programs as Vini Kumar, teacher from Montfort school shared precious poem about NIE in daily lives. She said, “The program made us forget all our worries and daily tensions as we enjoyed a lot by bringing out our hidden talents. In fact it was a welcome break and a much needed one.” Adding up the fun quotient, Kanchan Mishra, teacher, Narayana Vidyalayam came up with interesting tongue twisters. Decoding life, Harvinder Sibal, a teacher from New Meridien school narrated nice lines on life. 
Lauding the ftalent hunt show, Bhawna Sahni, teacher Edify school said, “It gave me a chance to come out of my busy schedule. I enjoyed the Talent Hunt program where Times-NIE gave us the chance to show our talent by singing, dancing, story narration etc. The Ramp Walk was also a cherish able moment. 
 
For some like Megha Malkapure, teacher , CDS-KR,  it was time out. This was followed by ramp walk of the teachers where they showed various gestures.In the end, all the teacher were served a sumptuous lunch after exhaustive session of fun and fiesta.  For a day, teachers reversed their roles which they will cherished forever. Times-Nie members Puja Kariwala and Khusboo Chaturvedi conducted the programme well 

They came , they conquered…..

When I saw the invitation, just thought that it will be the same teachers meet as we usually attend, with lots of lectures but I was wrong. The meet was really interesting and interactive. It gave me a chance to come out of my busy schedule and same daily routine and enjoy the fun of Talent Hunt program where Times-NIE gave us the chance to show our talent by singing, dancing, story narration etc and have lots of fun. The ramp walk was also a cherishable moment. It was an honour to be a part of the great meet. I thank the Times NIE  team and also grateful to my school EDIFY.

The event organised by Times-NIE was very short and well planned featuring Edusports, India’s number 1 sports organization.It’s basic theme is is all round development of  the child specially regarding ‘Holistic education through sports’. It’s a platform designed to render to all students to actively participate and experience the thrill of physical activity and imbibe values as well as contribute towards a qualitative and healthier globe.

Fun- filled activities like fashion show and talent hunt pleased us a lot and freshened our mood. Many dancers, budding poets and of course reality bites were on show presenting teachers in different hue. The small workshop was on sports education inspired all. I really feel that we should encourage students towards sports which will help them to develop skills like discipline, confidence, endurance, persistence and positive attitude towards life.

Times-NIE has been giving excellent platform to the students  to showcase their creativity and writing skills. The Teachers’ meet led stress on giving equal opportunity to sports besides education. The talent hunt program gave teachers a chance to come out of their shell and live a lively moment to bust stress. Harping on making sports an integral part along with academics will see a new wave of sports enthusiasts reaching new heights.

Educational seminar organized by Times-NIE and Edusports gave us details on age -appropriate sports curriculum and its relevance in modern education. This program will help in reducing the problem of obesity and lack of fitness in children. All the teachers enjoyed playing fun games and proved that they can handle any task with lot of enthusiasm and commitment. Thanks TOI-NIE team for the wonderful time and of course gastronomical delight.

The program was really nice as students need to be healthy and fitness if foremost. I expected more demonstrations from the resource person on involving schools in sports.
