Shahid's Look Required 22 Artists

Bollywood's most anticipated movie Padmavati has finally released two spectacular looks from the film. The movie which stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh is its final leg of post production and makers are gradually revealing their look. While Deepika's royal Rajputana Queen left us awestruck, Shahid Kapoor's latest poster as a brave Rajput warrior stunned us. Clearly, he has outshone Ranveer from Bajirao Mastani and this is not the first time he has transformed himself.

Be it his portrayal of Prince Hamlet in Haider or drug addict Tommy Singh in Udta Punjab, the man outdoes himself each time.

Shahid plays the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh and has his costumes accordingly. Fashion designers Rimple and Harpreet Narula are the official designers for the actor and they spoke to Mid-Day about how much research went to his look.

"We sourced organic fabrics from Rajasthan that were then embroidered by hand by 22 local artisans. We have stuck to pure muslin cloth as the base, and then used vegetable dye or hand dye. While we tried to use hues that are associated with masculinity, we also had to balance it with brighter colours, since Rajasthani outfits are all about colour at the end of the day."

The duo was overwhelmed to work with the brilliant filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

"Many samples of antique textiles and costumes from that period are dispersed in various museums all over the world. So, our dreams of visiting these museums was realised as we collated all the necessary information. We visited the Calico Museum and several museums in Jaipur."

Well, we can't wait to see the trailer and the larger than life cinema. The movie is slated to release on December 1, 2017.

Stop running behind Padmavati. There''s an article on the first look of Deepika Padukone and Now an other article on Shahid Kapoor''s look.I think this film is being given more attention rather than others. It''s like promoting this movie. Please stop it.Even I know that Padmavati is a great film but constant articles surrounding this film is absurd. I feel this film is being over - hyped by everyone. This film is nothing but an other Bajirao Mastani.
