Kid Sells Painting For Rs36,57,780

Age is no bar when it comes to talent. No wonder Kieron Williamson's paintings are selling like hot cakes

Q How did you get into painting? I first started drawing landscapes when I was five years old, inspired by the Cornish coast, South West England.

Q Do people take you lightly?  No, as they see my progress and determination.

Q Tell us how does it feel to become a painter? I like to capture nature, landscapes or things that I have enjoyed seeing, it could be face of a character, flower display, a still life, or a place I want to visit.

Q What are the colours you mostly use? My exact colours are top secret, but I use the same palette for oils and watercolours, blues, yellows and reds form the basis of my palette, supplemented by black, white, and brown’s.

Q How do you handle so much fame? I say no to a lot of projects, especially invitations to from LA, USA, Australia, Israel, Hong Kong, Germany, it is hard enough coping with local attention. Is painting the best form of expression: I enjoy painting as it relaxes me, when I’m not painting, I like to be active and play football, so it’s a nice balance to have, I paint to relax.

Q Do you have plans to buy anything? I invest money in purchasing property and paintings. Where have your paintings been showed: I showed my work at The Picturecraft Gallery, Holt, Norfolk, UK, I have been invited to show my work all over the world but I can’t meet the demands.

Q What exactly is your style of painting? I think I would describe my style as impressionist, I prefer to be able to recognise my subject and I try to get my colours as close to nature as I can.

Q How many paintings have you made? I have created over a thousand pieces of work, but that includes sketches, watercolours, oils, some unfinished, not everything can be sold.

Q Which is your favourite painting and why? I love my recent painting of an iceberg from the Lemaire channel.

Q What is your most expensive painting? I sold a painting for £42,000 GBP (Rs 36,57,780).

Q Where do you get ideas from? I get inspired by the landscapes I see. I recently visited Flatford Mill in Suffolk where John Constable grew up and painted his most famous works.

Q From where did you learn painting? I had just nine watercolour lessons at the age of 6, 3 lessons in oil painting and 6 lessons in pastel, but I prefer to do my own thing, so I don’t have lessons anymore.
