Will Women Take Over The World?

Well that's what singer Dua Lipa thinks. She says she wants to use her platform to teach the younger generation the importance of gender equality. The 22-year-old pop star says it is necessary to respect both men and women.

In an interview with ES Magazine, Lipa says, "It's a crazy time in the world. Women are the future. And we're going to take over the world. That's really what I think. I think if you're not a feminist, you're sexist. Both men and women.

"My idea of feminism is just wanting equality. It's just wanting women to be treated the same and to have equal opportunities. I guess we just need to teach the younger generation. Whatever I can do in my circle, however, I can use my platform to get things out - that's the most important thing for me."

What is your idea of feminism? Is it equal right for women, or women supremacy over men?

I don''t believe in feminism, i believe in equality and respect regardless of the gender. The idea of women supremacy is blind and narrow thinking. It feels like a revenge that women are taking against the opposite gender for the atrocities done to them in the past. This is wrong thinking. But the idea of equality between men and women is reasonable and forward thinking.

I could exactly say this is almost a revenge . Have you men forgotten the days when you tortured us ?? So we are back to take revenge . We are back to prove that we are more capable than you . In fact we may be weak physically but strongest mentally . We are going to rule the world for the next century .

Feminism is ''equal rights for women''. What''s the logic of using the word ''supremacy'' over here. Women should be given equal rights. Then only she will be able to express herself. And do good to the world, It''s not about women supremacy over men. Empowering a deprived group doesn''t mean making them superior, it''s about equality.

Prakhya Gupta Jayshree Periwal High School

Feminism, according to me, refers to supporting women in such a manner that they are respected and treated just as equally as men in the society. People often perceive women to be incapable and less competent and feminism allows those people who think otherwise, to help women rise higher by giving them motivation, courage and hope. It promotes watering the women in our society with encouragement to allow them to bloom into flowers that stand higher than any other in the field.

Yes,surely women will overtake world but in better way . As how can we forget the time when men though women are nothing , and torture us as if we are animals. What happened with us will not happen again even after zillion century neither men nor women. But I support feminism as well as equality and justice at same time.

Feminism is synonymous with gender equality. It is named so because usually it is the female gender that is oppressed. Women supremacy over men has a totally is different word to it, called feminazism. It means being overly feminist to such an extent that it is comparable to Hitler''s Nazism. I believe feminism is female empowerment and not male bashing. Without having equality of all sorts our society can never fully progress.

There is already an irony in the women empowerment rhetoric. If we want the women to be hand in hand with the men, why do we show women to be weaker and always in a need of a shield for them? It''s high time for the world to stop idealising women as docile and weak. Well, yes women have to improve their position in the society and this is possible only when they themselves take this step. Our aim isn''t to make the men weak and neither to spread feminism, our aim is to remove male-chauvinism.

I do not want women to take over the world. But I think that there should be equality between men and women. Even if women take over the world, I think world could be a better place. Taking revenge will not be the best option. If women want to show that men have wronged us, we should treat them properly and make them feel guilty for what they do to us!
