Soham Misra: Can The Fear Of Suspension Discipline Schools?

Recently a video clipping of a group of boys hitting a classmate in Patna went viral. Incidents like this keep happening because teachers and school authorities are chained by the law to not punish the students or be stern with them. If a teacher says something to the students, it's tagged as mental torture and if you try to intervene in a fight, it becomes sexual harassment or physical torture. As students what can we do to help teachers and school authorities to bring discipline in the schools? Look forward to your suggestion.

To discipline the school steps like suspension can be taken and more appropriately school should check the environment around the student and then let them take admission because a group of bad students spoil the whole teaching environment. Therefore i suggest schools should not let that student enter school that spoils whole teaching enviorment

If discipline is to be achieved in real terms than only strictness can help. Teachers must try to be quiet strict with those students who are nortorious.

Teachers must be strict with naughty students. They should be punished so that they do not repeat the same thing.

As a student we can ensure that our classmates don''t indulge themselves in duels, if they do so then we should try our best to stop it there and then. We can also maintain discipline by indulging the entire class in beneficial activities instead of chitchat.

I think that warnings should be given . Though, teacher should not hit the child but should be strict and give some punishments like standing in the class. Their friends should also tell them. Saanvi Thapar Class 5 Nirmal bhartia school

Discipline in school can be attained in school only by being humane and act as a smart student and not indulge in any unwanted activities and obey teachers well respecting wish for their better life.

The word "Discipline" should be thought from LKG such that student will know discipline first before knowing bad things or bad discipline. That is the reason there is a moral valuable session are kept in certain schools even in 1st std, such that from the beginning the habit will grow.

They should correct the students softly. If they give punishments, the students will not be corrected.

Beating or punishing is not the first way to bring discipline in school. We should peacefully make the student realize his/her mistake. If the student still doesn''t realizes that what he/she did was wrong, we can take the step of suspension against the student. Because beating or punishing the student makes them feel insulting and it hurts the ego of the particular student.

The best thing is to do is make the student guilty. We can not force someone to do anything then we can make the person guilty and get the work done. Fill the child with guilt and the school is disciplined. this would prevent the school indiscipline along with the child''s behavior.

Soham, according to RTE , suspension is also not permitted in schools.

Suspension will be an emotional punishment. Only way to bring about discipline is children should understand the value of discipline and help the school. Discipline should be learned and could not be taught.

Students must be given advises making them to realize the need for coming to school. In this way discipline can be brought in schools.

No, the fear will only limit the students from conducting misbehaviour in the classrooms and won''t teach them the actual sense and significance of discipline.

Yes it definitely can. Instead of beating and harming the children the teachers may afraid the child by the policy of suspension which can lead to the improvement in the child.

MEGHA BANSAL RAINBOW ENGLISH SCHOOL (JANAKPURI)

Indiscipline is not a result of the actions of all the students but a dish cooked by only some special cooks. Those who want to oppose, or stay out of its reach as they understand and accept the value of discipline in making their future are forcefully indulged either by bullying or peer-pressure which is unbearable. When teachers will be able to realise this bitter truth situations will become better.

Nishi Upadhyay BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

No because this is the logic that we have been using for years but it never worked and will never work.

Jovita J Christ King Girls Hr Sec School

Students can be punished on taking steps like suspension , many students face physical torture and mental disturbances. So,students must get to know the fear of getting punishments and suspension may help in disciplining them.

Hafsa Malwat F D SCHOOL

There are bad students in the school and also bad students in the school. Students who follow the rules are told good and who don''t follow the rules are told bad and naughty. We never didn''t want to know why a student don''t follow rules. We only punish them. But we never make students understand why they should follow rulea. We never teach them that they should follow rules to become a good person. We only force him or her to follow rules. We teach them to follow rules not force them.

Palaash Agarwal DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL ROHINI

To discipline and hush all bullies, more rules should be implemented and this can really discipline the schools because a child is usually focused on studies, and he or she knows that the studies would be the foundation of tomorrow. It can win them permission to colleges, hence giving them job and a work and meaning for the life.

K.Kaamya SENTIA GLOBAL SCHOOL

Lack of awareness among the school staff is the major reason for such activities. Moreover..it''s a surprise and ignominy that even parents don''t care what their children do.Adequate measures and counselling should be done. Also...be humane..toe err is human, to forgive is divine. :|

Thakur Aastha REUBS

Discipline is not that it will come in students with suspension or something like that. It is the thing which should be taught to student. Before expecting discipline in students. Firstly the school, teachers, and management all should be well disciplined.

Maisha Islam SACHDEVA GLOBAL SCH SEC18, DWARKA

Suspension is no solution to discipline errors. A child needs counselling and advice to grow disciplined. Punishments outrage us and is surely not any kind of lesson.

Mansi Borade PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

Beating or distracting is not the thing which can solve problem of discipline.

Sharmeen Khan PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

Indiscipline can have a profoundly negative effect on school performance and grades.Often, a parent''s involvement in his or her child''s education can help to improve the child''s behavior and will make him realize his education is important. Misbehaving is often seen as a way of getting attention and positive attention from the parents and school administrators may correct this type of behavior.

Jeevika Eraiyoli NEW HORIZON THANE

Motivation is the first step, suspension and punishment just help to keep discipline in order. disciplined students must be praised, for example, a Discipline Cup can be awarded to the most disciplined class and house.
