Prince Paul Says ‘Trust Us More Than The Report Card’. Your Take?

Report cards are a mere indication of a student's capability to perform in class, while education is much more than classroom performance. A holistic development is the need of the hour. Report cards shouldn't be the yardstick to decide students’ growth. What we need is overall development of behaviour, character, creativity and leadership abilities.
- Ayana Paul, class XII, St John's Diocesan HS School, Kolkata

Report cards do not reflect our passion, inner strengths and talent. In fact, we don't get grades for something that we actually love, for example: dancing, singing or painting, but for something that we are asked to learn. A report card does not reflect one's personality.
- Niharika Deshpande, class XII, Sakar School, Ahmedabad

Though report cards don’t reflect the true personality of a child, I feel they are required to assess our educational performance in a particular session. In fact, it also helps us in assessing our strengths and weaknesses and motivates us to work better in the future.
- Hitanshi Thakkar, class IX, New Horizon Public School, Airoli, Mumbai

Report card is for ourown personal evaluation about ourselves. We will come to know about our strength and weakness and can improve.

Neha Deshkar MONTFORT

Report card only indicates the growth in academics, it does not tells our parents about our behaviour, our strenghts, weakness etc. Parents scold us mostly because of our report card which reflects only about our academics. Because of report card they can''t see the other part or the hidden talent of their child.

Sachika Lala BGS National Public School

Report cards are just mere indications of a student''s strengths and weaknesses. Although they are important to realise more about oneself, students and parents shouldn''t judge based on a report card. There is more beyond the report card to explore and realise.

ANANYA A MENON SREE AYYAPPA EDUCATION CENTRE(CBSE)

Its true. Nowadays students are judged according to the marks printed on the report cards and not by their abilities or talents. Judging in accordance with report card is perhaps a motivation but is not completely reliable to decide what the student can do or capable of. People forget that all successful people have failed to score good at some point of their educational age of life. ANANYA .A. MENON, IX A. SAEC, BANGALORE

Academics are very important in our life. If we do not pay attention to academics, it may affect our life. However, for some people other activities are more important. Such people should continue in the activities. A report card isn''t fair for the students who are not good in studies. According to me, a report card should have records of a child''s curricular as well as co- curricular progress.

Mansi Borade PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

it has became the good thought because we someone by our eyes not by others talking.

sometimes report card can be wrong.

JIYA TOMAR B G S NATIONAL PUBLIC SCHOOL

Exactly, this is one thing that was sure to arise. But I feel that report cards are something so important that they actually do make sense and carry and shall carry immense importance in the future as well, because not only do they depict our evaluation in various fields, but also hold our pinnacle-reaching points that will not just motivate us but also bring a smile on our parents'' faces.

Darshil Shah ST. XAVIERS - LOYOLLA -2 LOYOLLA 2

A report card can not judge an individuals talents in other fields. Maybe a student is getting less marks in maths but he is very good at sports. Report cards and the grades of the student should definitely not be taken into consideration while deciding a person''s skills.

Simran Naik ROYAALE CONCORDE INTERNATIONAL SCHO

One piece of paper cannot decide our future.Though report cards display our academic excellence and extracurricular activity grades, it is important to know that it does not display our hard work, passion and imagination. On the other hand, report cards are what get us into our dream colleges and show us our weak points...

Ritvik Baweja Bal Bharati Public School

Report cards just contain some figures which judge our outer personality and learning skills. They never judge our real personality our help us to enhance our skills. Therefore parents should never scold children on the basis of their marks instead they should encourage their children to do what they want to do and promote their children''s interests.

Vishnu Varthan J Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

The talent of a student is not in the report card but it is in his hand. Report card is just giving report our studies but it will never weak or strengthens us and never show the hidden talent present in us.

SHUBHAM BANSAL RYAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

report card doesn''t tell our capability. but our parents don''t understand that. they should see our hard work , not report cards .

S.VIDHYAALAKSHMI SHREE NIKETAN MAT -

Don''t judge the the book by it''s cover . That is all I need to say .

Ambuja Rani Ryan International School

A+ -good B+-fine C+-you had better improve D+- bad performance. This is what report cards say. "I AM WEAK IN SO & SO THING HELP ME OUT" "I AM GOOD IN SO & SO THING HELP ME MAKE A CARRIER IN THIS". trust people not a sheet of paper. Great scientists were not that active in school but they moved ahead in life.
