Panchami: Should VIPs Be Exempted From Court Orders?

India has been long crying for equality and justice. Today, I firmly ask are we really setting equality in our Judiciary? Sanjay Dutt got five years' imprisonment for his role in the 1993 serial bomb blasts. He spent 18 months as an undertrial in jail when the case was going on. After he was convicted in 2013, he has spent another two years. So, he has spent only three-and-a-half years in jail.

Therefore, Sanjay Dutt must spend one year more in jail as he has not spent his full five-year term in jail. But today he is back to the industry as well ? Can wealth influence our judiciary so well ?

This has to stop. Day by day this crime is increasing. If there are law exemptions for rich people then what is use of court and all? Is this why Ambedkar lost his days and nights to create laws?

Ronit.R National Hill View Public School

I feel that it is not right if V.I.P ''s cannot be exempted from the orders of the court because of their wealth or influence .I feel that each and every citizen of India should be seen equally in the eyes of the law .This problem will lead to people losing their faith in the judicial system of our country .

All are equal before law by Right to equality. Our Ambedkar created laws for such things there is no Vip and no common people , all are equal before law. This problem leads to loss faith of our people

I feel VIPs must be exempted from the court orders and instead of custody, must be fined.. Imprisonment brings down a lot of disbalance in their normal routine ,fitness and even diets... Which is unexpected

A person who is guilty, remains guilty regardless of wealth. V.I.P treatment cannot work in law. Everyone is equal and this partiality is unacceptable.

yes

No.Even if they are VIPs or VVIPs, they should not be exempted. If they are exempted, it leads to inequality and injustice. Why can''t poor people who have committed crimes be exempted ? It is because they are poor and not recognized. The same happened with Salman Khan as well. This must stop for the betterment of our country.

G. Varun Chandra FIITJEE World School

I don''t think this is right because if a person isn''t punished for his mistake, the same thing will be repeated by someone else. I also think that our judicial system shouldn''t give bails for these kinds of cases.

Ashwin St Joseph's

Anyone who does wrong must face the punishment regardless of VIP or VVIPs. Everyone is equal before the law and cannot be denied justice.

Koushtubh Roy Lakshmipat Singhania Academy

This is wrong everybody should follow the law and not be exempted by court orders this is injustice.

no, if the law is the same for all even punishments should be. It will create an image among the people that there is no equality.
