Our Debate On Films With Vulgar Songs Is Heating Up? Are You Posting

Calling upon the film industry to own up to its societal responsibility, the Madras high Court said films are corrupting young minds with vulgar dialogues and songs. Do you agree?

It’s unfortunate that in recent years, there has been a decline in our family culture and morality. Movies with double meaning dialogues, lyrics and content are partly responsible for such state of affairs. The Information and Broadcasting ministry should ban movies that promote such songs and dialogues.

Pranav Khilnani, class IX, St John’s high school, Nagpur

Yes, films do have vulgarity in dialogues and songs with approximately 2 out 5 movies produced containing tasteless  content. Young minds are impressionable and they absorb what they see and hear. Insensitive songs and dialogues are bound to affect their future communication and understanding skills.

Sambhav Bansal, class X, St Xavier's School, panchkula

It’s unfair to blame movies for corrupting young minds. Though it’s true that the quality of songs and dialogues have deteriorated over the years, let’s not forget that film industry has also produced inspirational movies like Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par, etc.  So it all depends how you let the movies affect your mind

Many inappropriate dialogues are used in movies which have bad affects on a child''s mind. The abusive language or cheap songs are stored in a child''s memory and he/she starts repeating it which is not good for the society. I believe the U movies shouldn''t have any vulgar songs or dialogues

Harini MS NAGARJUNA VIDYANIKETAN

I think most of us listen to music as a pastime, and not to learn something from it. Music will vulgar lyrics isn''t really going to corrupt us, but I think listening to excessive music work vulgar lyrics is going to affect our minds.

Darshil Shah ST. XAVIERS - LOYOLLA -2 LOYOLLA 2

It surely does. In today''s world mostly all the parents allows their child to have the access to the Internet due to which there is a bad effect on some children. I think that students can definitely use the Internet and watch movies but with their parent''s permission and under their supervision.

NAVYA MALHOTRA SWARAJ INDIA PUBLIC SCHOOL

The crudeness of reality has been shown a bit too blatantly. There are insipid item songs and promiscuous scenes and sadly, the censor board has failed to perform its duty well. When movies get an ''A'' certificate , the students go and watch it first .Everyone is not capable of self-censorship.

Parth Gupta GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL DWARKA SECTOR 10

NO the film industry can not be blamed for corrupting young minds they are responsible for their corrupted mind sets as they themselves try to understand these double meaning dialogues and even in this matter they have partly known vulgarity but the rest of the credit goes to their seniors who use abusive language and try to present their vulgarity in front of their juniors and laugh at them not knowing the meaning of their double meaning sentences.

VIJAY.S KIDS GLOBAL SCHOOL

Vulgarity has exceeded all limits in Indian movies.Still censor board members approve all such scenes, songs, etc. And later given awards for their acting.Better to avoid seeing movies. Many futures have been ruined already. And great damage has been done to society.Movies becoming root cause of all evils happening.

Vaishnavi Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan SVV Tirupati

I feel that the dialogues and songs in movies do affect our minds without us even knowing. Directors,Editors, writers and even actors need to keep in mind that what they do will affect society. When a top actor says some dialogue that is vulgar...all his/her fans will obviously pick it up. But it also depends on our sense of judgement..we have to be strong at mind and should think before using such language.

PRERNA JOSHI MAYUR PUBLIC SCHOOL(PATPATGANJ)

Well, blaming the movies on a whole is wrong as the choice of what you want to listen depends on children as well.Nobody forces anyone to listen to anything vulgar and as Gandhiji said that we should never listen what is bad. So,children to are wrong on their part along with movies because movies are not always wrong. They convey some touching and deep meanings too.

Yashaswini nand Army Public School

Many dialogues and songs used in the movies these days are vulgar and shouldn''t be passed by the sensor board. These are ways to earn money and the audience too enjoys it. But it has a bad effect on today s youth.

Deepan M S PON VIDYASHRAM

Most of the songs have a vulgar comment about girls. They tease girls openly which most of them enjoy. The Censor Board should not allow vulgar dialogues, lyrics and scenes in a film. They should not be cut either. Totally, The film should be banned. Recently I saw film with vulgar lyrics in it. After seeing it, I was totally shocked that the movie was branded with U certificate. The should be given with a U/A certificate. Songs are meant for entertainment, not for hurting others.

Vidya Vishwakarma Vikas Vidyalaya

Yes as the songs of the movies now have more than enough vulgar and unwanted words which is spoiling our ambience. Also it is influencing the young generation as they very easily grabbing these words so we must sensitively look into it

Advait Mani DPS SUSHANT LOK(GURGAON)

Right, here''s the issue. The main concern is that young minds with mouldable attitudes can be affected greatly by these vulgar songs. Yes, completely valid. But I ask you this. Are these songs the only way to get to them? The world is a large, fast-moving, cruel place. And eventually young minds are going to face these songs and are going to have to deal with them. So banning them isn''t a viable solution. These songs must be used like a vaccine. Prevention IS better than cure, you know...

R.Abirami Sri Sankara Global Academy

The vulgar songs and dialogues in movies create a huge negative impact on the society, misleading the younger generation. I think movies should create a positive impact , and it need not be necessarily be preachy. Conveying the story line can be done in several ways instead of vulgarity.

Hansika bhardwaj PRESENTATION CONVENT(RED FORT)

Yes, they are corrupting the young minds by releasing such songs which is full of abusive words ,which should not be done by which they are spoiling the attitude of the youth and making them a bad person & it can also affect on their behaviour .so these kind of songs should not be given permission to release it.hence it can also have a great affect on their language.

Vanshika Aggarwal DAYANAND PUBLIC SCHOOL(MODEL TOWN)

Movies are now no more a source of entertainment for the youngsters but they actually rule over the young minds. The introduction of low moral values, low-quality meaningless songs, use of vulgar words in the movies leaves a great impact on a child''s personality. Such movies with vulgar dialogues, scenes or songs should be banned.

shaswati singh NAGARJUNA VIDYANIKETAN

Music is usually for recreation and fun. I don''t think that listening to music having inappropriate words or meanings will actually corrupt the young minds, as they are smarter enough to differentiate between GOOD and BAD. But ya, too much into it will have a bad effect

Sanjana Mehta G.D. GOENAKA PASCHIM VIHAR

People make vulgar songs and movies because the audience watches it. The seller will make what the people buy, and you cannot blame them for that. It is up to us to decide what kind of movies we want to watch. If there are vulgar movies, there are also movies like Akira, Rustom, Airlift and Neerja, which present a message. We cannot blame the movie-makers for the inscreasing vulgarity in movies , because at the end of the day it is up to us what we take home.

Deepak SHRI SHARADA VIDYA NIKETAN

If there’s one thing we can agree on, it’s that politics makes great cinema—and the debating part of politics is no exception. In many ways, a debate is like a good movie plot: you’ve got two opposing sides, something at stake, a strong sense of structure. And the ways a debate can go off the rails can also throw off a movie, whether it be too long or too unfocused.

Harini.V Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

The youngsters are influenced by the movies. So the film industry should carry the responsibility of developing the young minds. They should avoid the usage of vulnerable words. Good things and moral values should be depicted in movies.

Himanshi Dhawan Saffron Public School

Films today leave an impeccable impact on individuals. So, it''s very important that they should have a good message. "Vulgarity" should be eradicated as it has a bad affect on one''s mind.

ADEEN ASHFAQUE WAGLE MARY IMMACULATE GIRLS SCH-S CRUZ(E)

Once we hear a song it immediately gets settled in our mind with all the vulgar and double meaning words. It is the responsibility of adults to keep a check on kids who listen to such songs to ensure that such words do not become part of their vocabulary. It is a free world and everyone can express their views it is our duty to self censor the information that is provided to us and not let the uncivilized bits get embedded in our mind.

Heti Desai SRI SRI RAVI SHANKAR

Yes, there are some songs that use abusive words and that creates bad affect in our mind and bad thoughts too . This types of songs and films should be banned and should not be published .

Archisha Ghosh VIDYA VALLEY

Music is a stress buster for music lovers! Music is heard by everybody, from children to old citizens. But the lyrics used by some songs are too inappropriate as the abusive language can squeeze into the small children''s mind. Music should be composed in such a way such that the whole family can listen to it!

Amish Agarwal Goldcrest High Vashi

Although movies have vulgar meaning dialogues and songs, it is completely upto us how we perceive it. It is on us that whether we are looking at the positive moral of the movie or only taking in the negative vibes.

Rajathariga S P AECS MAGNOLIA MARUTHI PUB SCH

Most people listen to songs for their tunes rather than lyrics. If the tune is catchy and unique, I don''t really pay much attention to the lyrics.

Kritika Malhotra Indira National School

Young minds are not full and can be moulded very easily. Films with vulgar songs and dialogues can easily change the youngster''s viewpoint of the world. A child absorbs what he sees around him. Thus the censor board needs to give appropriate rating to each movie so as to help head young minds in the right direction.

krish shekhar THE GURUKUL PKL-SEC-20

its true nowdaye many films are reacting very badly on young minds and the teenagers. these songs and dialogues help them to scare a person and these only give them ideas to do unappropriate things . I support the opposition and the government should ban these films with vulgar songs and dialogues.

Hiya Kilam global indian internatonal school

There are many songs which have vulgar lyrics. Young minds absorb this knowledge and talk rudely with others. This should be discouraged and lyricists should come up with lyrics that do not cause any effect on a child''s mind as it does not bring any good to the society. we should all stop listening to these songs so that the industry stops creating such songs.

Pallavi singh PRESENTATION CONVENT(RED FORT)

The dialogues spoken by the favorioute hero''s leave an indelible make on their psyche. As they find dialogues , behavior of their favorioute hero''s as the idol one and imitate them. Such vulgar songs and dialogues make their roots in our society . we get to hear such songs and dialogues from very small children often. I think if the protagonist of the film only gives this message of not supporting such dialogues spoken and things shown were not good. It can make a difference.

Susila Suresh Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Nowadays there are a lot of vulgar songs which are depicted in the movies. These songs degrade the moral values of students. Hence the movies should be careful in creating such songs.

KAVYASRI R M Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Yes i do agree.Movie makers must be careful enough as the movies will be watched my millions. The use of offensive languages will surely corrupt the youngsters'' minds.

Nishi Upadhyay BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

Films are one of the reasons of moral perversion of our society.
