Online Games Boost Our Morale, Says Student Namita Bhatnagar. Are You Game For It?

Playing online games may boost teenagers' school results while spending time on social networks such as Facebook could do the opposite, according to an Australian study. Your thoughts...

Apart from being a stress buster, playing online games also boost our morale. As most of the games have different levels to succeed, it encourages us to strive harder to achieve our goal. Besides, it also improves our hand-eye coordination and improves our concentration level helping us to stay focussed.
Namita Bhatnagar, class XII, DPS, Ahmedabad

Playing games online help in sharpening memory and improve understanding skills, which in turn help kids to fare well in their exams. On the other hand, social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have nothing to do with academics and are sometimes addictive.
Rohan Chitrao, class X, NES Int’l School, Mumbai

Spending long hours playing online games can affect a teen. I know people who are not interested in academics, but pursue online games and social sites as ‘hobbies’. Excess of everything is bad. Thus, if it has to be pursued as a hobby, it should be done in moderation.

games do boost our mind by the tricks and shortcuts used. We imply on what we have seen but this is not always as sometimes because we get too much addicted to it that the bad things which are not supposed to done are done by us. resulting in crime... the good things should be understood by us and implied on.

There are many online games which helps in development of our brain . They increases our concentration and memory power but on the other hand social networking sites can lowers the school result upto 20% according to a study. they just diverts our mind and waste our time.

Though, not completely good, online games do boost our morale and are an excellent timekiller for anybody. But, then too much is bad, be it anything so it should be in moderate quantities

Every coin as said has two sides. thus, it totally depends on how a person co-operates with this. playing games online may be a very healthy practise, but it should not be sacrificing academics leading to poor overall development of a child. hence, i would say that do everything to an extent. take out 20 minutes for break and play these games only when you are over with your studies for the day.#that''s what i do.

Spending too much of time over online games are not that good either. But playing game online boosts your confidence levels. It also helps you to improve your vocabulary and focus towards your temporary strategy.

Online games do boost our morale, but social media doesn''t distract to that great an extent. Games can be played on social media as well, and we cannot deny the fact that web giants like Facebook have educational pages. There are pros and cons of both, but we can''t generalise that games boost grades while social media degrades them.

It''s a stress buster after a long day or time a man requires relaxation for him it is done by the games so online games boost our morale

R.Abirami Sri Sankara Global Academy

I agree that online games boost our mind. Most teens spend almost all of their time in playing these games. But, these games should be played only for some time. Playing games all the time damages our body system. We should also focus on academics equally.

Every child is different. Some may be extrovert and some may like to be their own. Likewise all on line games are not bad. There are games which require reasoning, problem solving techniques, external references, peer help ...etc to go the next level. Teenagers need to divert their thought in different directions. I strongly feel that on line games can help then in all these matters. There are pros and cons for everything. Look for good, think for better and do the best.

Yes I think computer gaming icreases our efficiency because it is seen that playing a game game for 45 to 50 mins icreses our focus and stability so I think I game for it

Playing online games in not bad because its sharp our mind but as excess of everything is not good. Games make our mind sharp. Like time based games these games help teenagers to quickly respond in class as he or she quickly respond in these games. And social networking sites make teenagers aware that what is going on in his or her surroundingsb But at last I want to en light that excess of everything is not good.

It''s not good for our eyes and mind our mind needs to be relaxed for studying. We can use the playing time for studying and score good marks. Instead of playing online games we can play physical games like badminton, cricket, football etc. to keep our body fit.

Ya I agree. Because when I am extremely stressed of my homework I do play online strategy games to calm my mind and to concentrate on my next work. But it also depends how much you depend on it because online games can be addictive.

Games definitely increase the co-ordination of the parts of our body. We should play games like shooting games, mind games, puzzle game etc. which increase our body''s co-ordination as well as increase our mind''s power.

Online games are just a distraction from studies...nothing else ....those who do not understand their limits waste their time

Sachika Lala BGS National Public School

Playing online games are good and helpful, but in limits. These games actually teach us about a few new things and also improve our speed, accuracy and precision. They also wake our mind up and give us a refreshment after hours of studies.

LAKSHYA DUHOON DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL

If we are not feeling well or sad we can play online games to boost our morale but only for a limit as it can effect our body and our hand coordination is better and eye contact is better

Archisha Ghosh VIDYA VALLEY

IT IS ADDICTIVE Playing online games can''t be a stress buster at all. People specially young generation become so addicted to the games, they challenge each other online and result can be very fatal..These games are just wastage of time and lead people towards disturbed mind. There can be lot of good hobbies as stress buster.
