Kavyasri Asks Are We Really Celebrating Children's Day?

Child Labour is a big social problem. Very often we see some minor boys and girls working in the tea stalls, restaurants, and hotels and in the small shops. In some big industries too, minor boys and girls have been working for full hours. Don't they have the right to get proper eduaction? Is this the way we celebrate Children's Day? Why can't we have a proper solution to this?

What's Your Take? Do you think it is hight time that strict action is taken against those employing children as workers? Do you have any measures to suggest? Tell us in the comments below...

It is very much important for the people to realize the importance of education amongst poor and under-developed children we should educate them and restrict them to work inside our houses or as cooks..We have to organise some rallies or nukad-nataks on the roadside to provide information to their parents

Bhavana Jaison Atomic Energy Central School No 2

Yes , government is doing so much to get the children educated and to lessen the number of school out''s, so definitely if a child found working brought into the notice of the government, I am sure definitely it will be taken care.

Haya Naved FATHER AGNEL SCHOOL(GAUTAM NAGAR)

Yes its high time for us to take strict action against child labour. I think this children''s day we should help terminate child labour instead of partying.

Illiteracy is the father of all evils. Proliferation of education is the need of the hour. The day when India will be a 100% literate country only then will we be able to get rid of child labour, exponential decrease in population and all other evils that prevail.

Ritvik Baweja Bal Bharati Public School

Definitely, it''s a now or never situation. The poor and unprivileged minors are often forced to do work for the upper class. Thus the reason behind child labour is we the people ourselves. Now we should stop this illegal practice and instead give these children an opportunity to rise on their own by means of education.

Himanshi Dhawan Saffron Public School

Yes, it''s high time now. It''s really excruciating to see kids of tender age acting as helpers at roadside-tea stalls, dhabas etc. Send them to classes not to wash tea glasses.

I think it''s high time now and the proper implementation of the Child Labour Act 2005. It will be great if you help any kid to get out of this debris.

What kind of a celebration is it when children are spending time in dark sheds, inhuman labour, and other kids sing dance and enjoy . We must first work towards the unprivileged then we must celebrate.

kaviya.s Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

It is really sad. Even now many children are working and they don''t have proper education. They are tend to work in hazardous industries which is very dangerous.

Rajashri Radjane Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School

It is absolutely true. Everyone should be aware of it and should go to all child lobours. They are not aware of it sometimes. While others, they do not know how to get out of it. Every child is precious. They have their own talent to contribute to ourcountry. But working at these ages is cruel and should be prevented.

Darshil Shah ST. XAVIERS - LOYOLLA -2 LOYOLLA 2

You have raised a very good and an appropriate question. Yes the people who are practicing these type of hilarious activities should definitely be punished. Launching campaigns and initiatives especially n the rural areas will bring a big change.

Radhika Ghildiyal BGS National Public School

I certainly agree with you. It is high time that we stop child labour. We can only and only celebrate the real Children''s day with complete hapiness when we get rid of this.

Nishi Upadhyay BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

The biggest on this children''s day from the government to the children of this country would be implementation of laws against child labor.

Harini.V Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

The parent of every child should realise the worthiness of the child and make them educated. Even if they are poor, they can borrow loans and educate them, instead of sending the young children to work.

B. Tulasitharini Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School - Puducherry

Child labour is a social evil. "KIDS WORKING FOR MONEY ARE TOO YOUNG HONEY" Sadly,India has a large number of Child Labourers.

Bhumika Sethi SACRED HEART SCHOOL

Education has always been considered as a way to eradicate poverty and other social evils. However it is futile unless it reaches its destination. One can force a horse to go to the well but not to drink water. Only when efforts are made to make the labour- engaged minors aware of the significance of education, can they be really taught and transformed into more productive humans, thus fulfilling the essence of Children''s Day.

MIHIR KHULBE DEEP MEMORIAL PUBLIC SCH(RAMPRASTHA

It is absolutely true. Why only Government we should also spread awareness to stop child labour.
