Do Reformed Criminals Deserve A Second Chance?

Reformed criminals deserve to be given a second chance and be accepted back by the society after their prison time is complete, says actor Farhan Akhtar. Your views...

Reformed criminals should be given a second chance as everyone deserves a fair chance in life.  But then,  society should be more open to them and accept them without any doubts in their mind.

Ruhaan Chand, class VIII, St Andrew’s School, Hyderabad

In our society, criminals are shunned  even after their prison time is complete. They face difficulties in regaining their dignity. The government should come up with a system so that reformed criminals get a fresh lease of life and become responsible citizens.

Sneheel Sarangi, class X, Apeejay School, Kharghar,  Navi Mumbai

It goes without saying that if the person has served his/her term of punishment, he is entitled to be part of a society and should be welcomed with an open mind. If this does not happen, the person will again be forced to be part of the criminal world or may get depressed with his life.

Yeah! They should enjoy living in this community without insecurity. We''ve to give them a second chance, so that they don''t take up negativities again. Everybody commits mistake. Even they did the same, but that''s serious. They all deserve a second chance.

Reformed criminals should actually be given a second chance. Everyone makes mistakes or may commit sins in life, but if they realise their mistakes then they surely deserve a second chance. But it''s always not sure if they will not commit those sins again.

They can be given . But we should not be too free . Because there are people who don''t change . Because they are corrupted from their early age .

Reformed Criminals do deserve a ''Second Chance'' but how do we check if they have changed their attitude towards life or not, here lies the tough challenge, anyone can fake around to achieve freedom.
