Did Indian Batsmen Led To The Defeat At Centurion?

Former India captain Kris Srikkanth believes that the Indian cricket team's collective batting failure in both innings of the recently concluded Centurion Test, which saw South Africa claim the series with a match to go, could have been avoided with better application.

I think looking back at the events of the past five days will tell you that the defeat was not just about the captiulation with the bat in the fourth innings. It was a culmination of little moments that a team of India’s pedigree should have been winning. It’s the fine margins, in a couple of cases as minute as a few millimetres, that hurt India.

I actually feel that it was the lack of idea of the field that India had thought. After the wins at Sri Lanka, I don''t think they have assisted the ground properly. We cannot say only batsmen, but the bowlers could not do it too. But both the batsmen and the bowlers had the same thing in SA - Lack of Resistance.

What made us lose doesn''t matter, what we could have done to win matters, and how to not repeat the mistake matters. Though the performance of the batsmen was a little improvable and not to the best, blaming somebody else doesn''t work. We should make them feel urge to improvise and cover up the bitter loss in the next game.

I think Indian team had a over confidence that after winning consecutive 9 wins the 10th one is not a matter. But even though Indian team gave tough competition for south Africa. I think srikanth is wrong to say those words on our team, because they tired there level best in the matches to win and continue the record with 10th win

I think Former India captain Kris Srikkanth is right because Indian cricket could have better batting order and better strategy.
