An Xmas With Book Families

(For what is Christmas without fine company.)

Christmas and food are like inseparable besties, you cannot have one without the other. That amazing Gingerbread, the Christmas pudding, roast chicken, pork Vindaloo.
What also makes Christmas dinner amazing is the company. This year, we decided to look through some literary families that would be perfect to spend Christmas with. Just imagine stuffing yourself with Christmas pie and wine, and chatting around with these literary beings... hey your favourite fictional hero could also pop in for pie (it's your imagination, so no rules whatsoever).
We've picked five families we would love to spend the holidays with this year (feel free to add to the list in the comments below).

1. The Weasleys From the Harry Potter series

Who better than Mrs. Weasley for some comfort food! We would love to hang out with the family, getting a dose of Fred and George's (yeah, this fantasy is before book seven) Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes, talk to Mr. Weasley about the newest Muggle-wizard tiff, and get fourth helpings of Mrs Weasley's Christmas pie. And then head off to sleep in Ron's room... perfect.

2. The Merryweathers from The White Horse
Set on a beautiful estate, the Merryweathers have the best chef in the village. Marmaduke Scarlet, a drawf who refuses to speak while he is cooking, is known to whip up the most delightful of dishes, and Christmas in his kitchen would be nothing short of a dream come true. Plus, you also get to hang out with Wrolf, the lion, Zachariah, the cat, Serena, the hare, and Wiggins, the dog. Sound just right.

3. The Marches from Little Women
A cosy fire with the March sisters gathered around reading letters, finishing their sewing, and generally teasing each other... this would be just the cosy Christmas you are looking for. While the food might be basic, it would be cooked with a lot of care, served in the most creative way possible, and the March's company - all that sibling banter - would certainly make for a postcard worthy holiday.

4. The Hempstocks from The Ocean at the End of the Lane

Whenever the narrator (we don't really know his name) goes over to the Hempstocks' house, he thinks he is in a different universe. The place is warm, welcoming, and filled with stories. Imagine Christmas Eve spent with the two women, and one girl who claims to know magic, and can ward off evil spirits.

5. The Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie
While life is hard for Laura and her siblings, they always manage to have the best Christmas. They wake up to stockings full of small treats, and amid all the candy, cake, and tiny little gifts, Christmas morning. Sounds like quite a treat.

I would more than love to celebrate my xmas with the Marches from Little Women, because i believe that there is no christmas without charity. All give and no take. Sounds fun? And the Marches are the most humble people i ever met an in that way i can also meet Jo.

I would love to spend Christmas with the Weasleys! They are the kindest wizarding family we see in the books, and would go out of their way to make anyone happy. Also, I will finally get one of Mrs. Weasly''s hand-knitted sweaters, perfect for a cozy Christmas.
