11 Cool Health Apps You Should Try

With technology increasingly seeping our minds, we are glued to our gadgets most of our waking hours. Be it a smartphone, laptop, PC or a tablet, some device is always there as a companion. But, while giving ourselves break from gadgets surely is good for healthy habit, you can also use these gadgets to boost your health.

There are several health and fitness apps available that can help you lose weight, walk more steps in a day, push yourself for a morning workout and more...

Fitso

A great app for fitness freaks, Fitso has a number of features like maintaining meal logs and diet schedules, keeping a track of how much one has run during the day, taking up challenges and more. Users can get nutrition, fitness and running advice directly from coaches they can meet via the app, and connect with friends on Facebook to compete with them. Fitso also lets one keep a tab on how many calories they have consumed and burnt. In a nutshell, someone who is fitness conscious is very likely to love Fitso.

Couch to 5K

If you are just a beginner and Fitso seems a bit too advanced to you, then you can start with Couch to 5K. This app only focuses on running and is aimed at getting beginners into the habit of going out for a run regularly. Users can make a schedule for 9 weeks, which includes warm up, workout and cool down time for each run. The duration of the workout time increases as the weeks go by. Users can also check their running history to see how many meters they have covered since they started.

Sworkit

Now this is one app we loved, mainly because of its personalization. Once signed up, the app asks what the user's current weight is and also what is the goal behind using the app. It then asks what kind of workout the user wants and how much time he/she has for it. The app then shows a list of exercises to choose from and on clicking them, animated videos of the selected workout are shown. A premium version of the app is also available, which claims to offer even more personalization.

Daily Yoga

If running and exercising is not your thing and you prefer yoga instead, then this app is for you. It offers a library of 50 yoga classes in HD video quality. It comes with seven yoga plans geared towards beginners and various other duration and intensity based exercises too. Daily Yoga users can also access a library with detailed videos featuring over 500 yoga poses.

Universal Breathing: Pranayam

Anyone who has ever done yoga knows that it focuses a lot on breathing patterns. With this app, users can practice various breathing patterns that are designed around the Pranayam technique and also track their progress. The courses come along with animated guides to help users do the exercises just the right way.

My Fitness Pal

Probably the most popular fitness app in the world, My Fitness Pal lets users create an account of what all they have eaten during the day. At first when someone signs up, the app asks for their goal and current weight and sets a daily calorie count according to that. Then the user can start creating a journal of whatever they have eaten during the day. It tells them by how much they have exceeded the calorie count, so they can accordingly decide what they need to cut down on. The best feature of My Fitness Pal is the huge database of over 6 million food items, which makes it easier to track one's diet.

Relax Melodies

Everyone knows that sleeping well at night is necessary, if one wants to lead a healthy life. With Relax Melodies, one can unwind by listening to soothing melodies like the sound of river or ocean or winds. Users can also meditate using the app and set alarms for themselves. It also has timer functionality that can be used to automatically close the app after a desired time.

Calm

Calm is an app that helps you meditate. Once you select the areas that are most important to you like reducing anxiety or developing gratitude, you can get yourself started with meditations with the app. The duration of meditations vary from 2 minutes (for beginners) to 20 minutes (for experienced users).

7 Cups

Since we aren't excluding mental health when we are talking about health and fitness apps in general, we thought we should include this app too. Although a little different, it is definitely worth a try. For those who often feel like they need to be heard but find it difficult to talk to someone familiar, this app offers a way to speak their mind whenever they want, to trained listeners. Listeners are not psychiatrists, they are just people who are trained to listen. Users also have a pseudonym given to them each time they chat with someone, which we feel is another plus. So instead of waking up your friends at 4 am, just message a listener on 7 Cups.

Health Tap

Health Tap is a platform that connects users to doctors. They can post queries on the app and the doctor will get back to them within a few hours. Users can also access information about various ailments along with their symptoms through the app. The paid version also allows them to text and video call doctors.

Practo

This one is probably the most popular app is on our list. It lets you hunt for doctors and fix appointments with them. You can also read up reviews about them or consult them via the app itself. Another useful feature of the app is that it enables you to order medicines, which are delivered right at your doorstep. Also, you can search for tips about various topics of health interests in the app.

It''s worth trying the apps. We now-a-days use unnecessary apps for our entertainment. But those apps are not useful to us in any way. But the apps that are mentioned give us entertainment as well as peace , knowledge. So it is worth using these types of apps.🙂🙂

This seems to have good effect on one''s body. These days people ain''t concentrating on their health but are back of earning money, so unaware of the condition of their health. There are some people who notice the body changes but don''t react accordingly. These apps are useful as they will at-least help them to maintain their health in such a busy schedule.
